The Machine

Three parts. One program.

A well-built program runs like a well-built machine — every part engineered toward the same thing: better players and better teammates.

01

Development

Fundamentals first. Every practice is built around the skills that carry players forward: throwing, fielding, hitting, and baseball IQ.

02

Community

Powered by families and local support. We keep the game accessible, welcoming, and fun for Greene County kids.

03

Competition

Real travel reps. Structured tournament play that challenges players and builds the confidence that shows up on game day.

The Staff

Behind the machine

Local coaches invested in developing Greene County players the right way — on and off the field. The Greene Machine name has roots in Greene County baseball going back to the 2000s. We're bringing it back, rebuilt from the ground up.

Questions, answered

New to travel ball? Here's what families ask us most.

What is 8U travel baseball?

Travel baseball is a step up from rec ball: a committed team that practices together and competes in weekend tournaments against other programs around the region. At the 8U level the focus is squarely on development — building fundamentals, game awareness, and a love for playing the game the right way.

Who can try out?

Tryouts are open to all players born on or after May 1, 2018. No prior travel experience is required — if your kid loves baseball and wants to get better, we want to see them.

What should we bring to tryouts?

Glove, bat, helmet, cleats, and water. Arrive a few minutes early to check in. It's one structured evening — players rotate through throwing, fielding, hitting, and baserunning stations so every kid gets a real look.

What does it cost?

We're finalizing season costs now, and local sponsorships help us keep it as affordable as possible for families. Full details will be shared with families at tryouts — and if cost is a concern, talk to us. We'll work with you.

What's the time commitment?

Expect regular team practices plus tournament play once the season is underway. The full practice and tournament schedule will be posted once the roster is set — we know families are busy, and we build the schedule with that in mind.

We can't make tryouts — or we have more questions.

No problem. Fill out the player interest form or email us at gmbaseball26@gmail.com and we'll get back to you directly.
